yesterday i bought 2 books from popular! buy one get one free! of course i, the bargain master, saw it! right after i was grumbling in this blog about how boring yesterday was! lucky i was feeling so sad yesteday! or else i will never go out to eastpoint! i bought
There's no place like here by Cecelia Ahern (author of PS, I love you) and got
Nightmares and Dreamscapes by Stephen King FOR FREE :D so one book cost around $ 8.56 like that :D not bad for two BESTSELLERS!
after buying the books i spent the entire day reading THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HERE. the book could be written about me for all i know :D the first time i saw the book i got this immediate attraction to it. i also realize that the main character, Sandy, share the same sentiments with me in running, not just physically running, but mentally running away, running away from others who dont share the same thoughts, disagree with our actions. and the worst thing about running away is that most people dont remember you, and when you are missing, nobody remembers either.
ok. next paragraph.. SPOILER AHEAD! DONT READ UNLESS YOU HAVE READ IT, OR DONT BOTHER READING THE WHOLE BOOK. haha.
Sandy Shortt has a peculiar behaviour. She spents countless hours finding missing objects, missing stuff, missing people. Ever since her classmate disappeared when she was 10 years old, she has that urge to find out where missing things go to, to find them, and even when her parents worried eyes follow her throughout the house she'll still turn the house upside down. The funny thing was, many of her stuffs really did vanished into thin air. That's when she become a police, and when being a police means doing mostly paperwork and very little on field work to search for missing people, she set a missing persons agency aimed at finding.. well... missing people... Her serious attitude in finding missing people causes her to neglect those around her, her family even her shrink-cum-boyfriend, coming in and out of hiding places, never returning until a few days later and so on and so forth. Until the day she herself turned missing and no one bothered to find her...
ok.. maybe this isn't very spoiling... i probably just rephrased the story at the back of the book lol...
